The Product Line Manager is directly responsible for the success of the assigned product line.
The PLM has overall responsibility for the development, marketing and strategic planning of the assigned product line.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Define and drive product positioning and competitive analysis.
- Develops and maintains market plans, drawing from commercially available data and information, as well as regularly submitted forecasts, customer databases, account profiles, sample requests, and trip reports.
- Develops and maintains market-based technology roadmaps and their impact on assigned product line
- Directs the Development of review papers, technical papers, white papers for publication as well as presentation at industry conferences
- Ability to utilize existing and develop new high-level contacts at customer accounts within assigned market (e.g.
CTO, Fab Manager)
- Develops product positioning in the assigned product line to deliver revenue growth plans by researching
- Generate MRS documents for new products and major enhancements, market trends, estimating demand and identifying opportunities.
- Manages the creation and maintenance of price books for the assigned product line to align company's offerings with specific market needs.
- Manages the marketing plan to achieve short and long term revenue targets.
- Interface with past, current and prospective customers/clients, as well as Field Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and management,.
- Supports field sales when appropriate, in calling on key decision makers, including management representatives at identified and prospective accounts, to overcome obstacles to sales, and coordinate corporate resources to address customer concerns.
- Manages and coordinates development of market and product specific marketing and sales collateral material, including brochures, presentation and promotional materials, and provides training to field sales staff in effective utilization of such material.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Direct management of the team dedicated to the assigned product line.
In some cases the team may be geographically dispersed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in device physics, materials science, engineering or related discipline.
- MBA in Marketing highly desirable.
- Seven or more years industry-specific experience, Semiconductor manufacturing experience a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, major credit card (for business travel), and passport.
**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:
- Ability to interpret technical journals and papers, and other related material.
- Ability to communicate effectively inter-departmentally and externally with customers, and other contacts such as vendors.
- Ability to compile technical reports and present technical material to internal and external groups including high level management teams.
- Ability to travel extensively (approx.
40% - 75%) as required to support Sales activities for new or prospective business, as well as trade shows, industry meetings, etc.
- Ability to negotiate technical aspects of a purchase (including process specifications, hardware configurations, and commercial terms and conditions).
**WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:
- The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing laboratory, and clean room.
- The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, or possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
