It Software Developer

Purpose of the job:The IT Software Developer is responsible for delivering software/IT solutions to the business side of the organization.
They design, maintain, and implement database management systems, computer applications, and operating systems; they also analyze organizational software needs, devise solutions, and maintain PC software and hardware systems.Summary of responsibilities:Integrate and develop software according to business needs.Manage and maintain software currently in use in the Terminal.Make changes in software programs based on end-user demands.Follow updates in software systems and update accordingly.Ensure that IT systems work without interruption and provide technical support to end-users during the opening hours of the terminal, and be available for night/holiday support when required.Education Experience:Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (preferred).5 years of professional experience as an IT Software Developer.Technical Skills Knowledge Required:Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages (Java, Python).Good knowledge of relational database management and backend solutions.Familiarity with MS, Linux, and VMware administration tools.Proficient in SQL.Experience with Docker virtualization.Preferred: knowledge of EDI, Kubernetes, integration software, ETL, and messaging systems (JMS, Kafka).Behavioral Competences Required:Ability to work well with others (team building).Good communication skills.Problem-solving skills.Language Requirements:Intermediate spoken English.Other Requirements:Workplace: TriesteHHLA PLT Italy is part of HHLA Group, with over 6,400 employees worldwide.
