Within the Group PC, Claims and Reinsurance (Group Chief Insurance and Investment Officer) we are looking for a talented and proactive resource to join the team.It's a great opportunity within the Catastrophe Modelling Unit of the Group Head Office of Generali, the leading international insurer.
All activities are in close contact with Group Reinsurance, Group Risk Management and local business units.Key responsibilities of the role will include:Performing and/or reviewing catastrophe modelling for Group and Group CompaniesSupporting catastrophe model review and evaluationsEnsuring adherence to best practices and covering activities tied to the Generali Solvency II approved internal model frameworkSupport innovation (e.g.
parametric, machine learning) in underwriting and pricing initiatives covering the catastrophe risksOur ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:University degree (or higher) in a quantitative discipline, preferably actuarial sciences, engineering, geophysics, physics, etc.English knowledge, as she/he needs to be comfortable in communicating within a multinational environmentProgramming experience, especially for query (e.g.
SQL, SAS) and data processing (e.g.
R, Python, VBA or other programming languages)Knowledge of MS Office applicationsPhD, ideally in subjects linked to meteorology and climate change or otherwise in natural catastrophesExperience in the field, ideally with a leading insurer, reinsurer, broker or catastrophe modelling company and having used and evaluated catastrophe models and possibly followed cat exposure management processesCatastrophe modelling experience in using one or more of the main vendor model platforms (e.g.
RMS, AIR, Corelogic, etc.
)Experience in climate change related topics from a regulatory perspective (e.g.
Taxonomy, etc.
