Role purpose The Web Front End Engineering Chapter is seeking a passionate and experienced Chapter Lead to oversee our team of front-end engineers dedicated to crafting intuitive, responsive, and visually compelling digital experiences. As a leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our front-end engineering efforts, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence. Key accountabilities and decision ownership Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the chapter's strategic direction, aligning it with the organization's overall goals and industry trends. Team Development: Cultivate a high-performing team by providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in web development, leveraging modern frameworks like React, Next.js, and SSG/SSR to deliver scalable and efficient solutions. Performance Optimization: Prioritize website performance, optimizing page load times, animations, and responsiveness. Security: Implement robust security measures to protect user data and prevent vulnerabilities. Required competencies, knowledge, and experience Proven experience in front-end engineering with a strong portfolio of web applications. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers. Deep understanding of modern front-end frameworks and best practices in web development. Experience working with headless CMS solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong track record of driving innovation and embracing emerging technologies. Commitment to security and data privacy. Nice to have technical and professional qualifications Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, CloudFront, Amplify). Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines (e.g., Github, Jenkins). Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress) for ensuring code quality.
