About the teamMongoDB Technical Services Engineers combine exceptional problem-solving and communication skills with deep technical experience to advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems. They are experts in components of the MongoDB ecosystem - database server, drivers, our management suite, and services such as Cloud Manager and MongoDB Atlas.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Milan for our hybrid working model.
Cool things you'll do:In Technical Services, you'll be working alongside our largest customers, solving their complex challenges - resolving questions on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and everything in between. You'll be an expert resource on best practices in running MongoDB at scale, interfacing with our product management and development teams on behalf of customers, and contributing to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.
In this specific role, you will focus on the performance of our Cloud platform Atlas and its supported services, helping both frontend and backend developers build next-generation applications on the MongoDB platform.
MongoDB Technical Services emphasizes enabling peers to be successful by sharing newly gained technical knowledge, either via informal conversations or training and workshop sessions.
What you need:We are looking for curious, multi-faceted teammates driven to serve our customers. The ideal candidate should have a mix of experience in most of the following areas:
Distributed systems, Database architecture and administration, Application architecture, Data architectureExperience supporting complex mission-critical product applications and database systems (RDBMS or NoSQL or both)Supporting Cloud and/or Enterprise grade applicationsStrong diagnostics and troubleshooting experience, with the ability to analyze issues holisticallyBroad awareness of customer workloads and use cases, including performance, availability, and scalabilitySystems administration experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshootingGood understanding of Networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, etc.)Storage engineering experience, including NAS, RAID, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and cachingWorking with real-time stream processing using KafkaServerless computing services such as AWS Lambda, Azure functionsAs this role is technical but also about helping our customers, we are looking for:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalDesire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skillsAdvanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skillsAbility to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and solve problems in real-timeStrong teamwork: willingness and ability to get help from team members when requiredStrong written and verbal skills in English and ItalianBonus Points:Deep understanding of at least one object-oriented programming languageDeep understanding of connection poolsExperience with Apache SparkExperience with authentication systems such as LDAP, Kerberos, ADExperience using or managing MongoDBExperience using distributed version control systems, particularly gitExperience using any cloud services stack such as AWS, Azure or GCPExperience with Kubernetes or other orchestration systemsSuccess Measures:In 3 months, you'll have gained a deep understanding of MongoDB and its ecosystem.In 6 months, you will be comfortable working directly with our customers.In 12 months, you will work on gaining expertise to be a part of a technical experts group within the MongoDB ecosystem.To drive the personal growth and business impact of our employees, we're committed to developing a supportive and enriching culture for everyone.
