Scope The Technical Director will primarily act as the single contact between the Technical Office in Ghana and Europe, support resident engineers & deputy resident engineers on site regarding the project designs, contractual issues, and site documentation, and contribute to the development of the Technical Office in Ghana.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Management in achieving general and technical objectives.
Direct and coordinate the activities of the Technical Office.
Ensure the regularity of the Technical Office's processes and implement a Document Control Plan and Quality procedures for the Company.
Ensure the implementation of directives and plans within the prescribed timeframe, through the efficient and effective management of the resources.
Ensure a timely request to the Technical Office in Rome for project tasks, design, and engineering for the Technical Office personnel.
Supervise the management of the Technical Office while respecting the autonomy of the Technical Office Coordinator and Operations.
Supervise correct communication between the Technical Office in Accra and the Technical Office in Europe.
Oversee relations with our Client for the services provided by the Company, specifically regarding the design and the contractual aspects of the projects the company is undertaking.
Supervise the management of the design and ensure that the deadline for its technical progress is met.
Supervise the preparation of technical drawings.
Propose initiatives to Management aimed at rationalising technical services, streamline procedures and provide uniformity among the various projects the Company is undertaking.
Assist Management in periodical reports on the branch's performance providing appropriate analyses.
Ensure that archives and information back-ups relevant to the sector of responsibility are kept and updated.
Requirements The ideal candidate would have had extensive technical experience in railway engineering at a supervisory level with international work experience, particularly within sub-Saharan Africa.
A minimum of 7 years experience working in a similar role within railway engineering or transport engineering is mandatory.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering and relevant fields.
A Master's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering will be an added advantage.
Must have a professional/advanced/proficient user level in English language.
Excellent supervisory skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyse financial data.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 ecosystem with advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
