JOB DESCRIPTION We are currently seeking a Subcontracting and Estimating Manager, reporting directly to Section Head, to join our team based in our Rome offices, c/o Construction Department, Italy. About The Role: The job will be performed in Rome Home Office and abroad in Construction Job Sites. In Rome Home Office: Preparation of cost estimate for construction subcontracting works, either during proposal/FEED or project phases, according to the specific proposal/project subcontracting strategy. Bid and Award of Subcontracts for the execution of Construction works. Abroad in Construction Job Site: Management of the Construction Subcontracts during the construction phase at Site. The role and tasks include the following main activities: In Rome Home Office: Coordinates a dedicated team of subcontracting and estimating engineers for specific Proposal and/or Project Subcontracting activities. Participates in the proposal or subcontract development process. Analyzes tender requirements. Collects bill of quantities. Performs preparation, assembly, and issuance of call for bid, addendums, and tender clarifications. Performs and delivers the Construction Cost estimate and benchmarking of construction costs according to the subcontracting strategy. Ensures sourcing and qualification of bidders. Performs preparation of Construction man-hours estimate. Performs bid tabulation. Implements the subcontracting management strategy of the project. Performs negotiation and award of the subcontracts. Abroad in Construction Job Site: Ensures field administration of subcontracts (including change order, variations, and back-charges management and payments). Check of the executed quantities at Site (with the support and the management of a team of quantity surveyors). Prepares and replies to the Subcontractors letters. Prepares subcontracting activity reports, default notice, and subcontract close-out. Prepares feedback and statistic (cost, man hours, productivity, quantities, reworks rates, ) reports/records as per corporate guidelines. Ensures proper handling of subcontracts, support documentation, and related files. Ensures formal assessment of the subcontractors' performance. We'd love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements: Graduated in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Energy, Chemical. Full availability to move abroad for business trips and for long-term assignments at job site. Fluent knowledge of spoken and written English. Familiarity in organization and coordination matters. Previous experience in Sub-contracting in the Oil & Gas industry. Minimum 5 years of experience in similar positions. Teamwork attitude. Nice to have: Experience in negotiation activities. Knowledge of terms and conditions related to onshore construction contracts (lump-sum, reimbursable, etc.). Knowledge of IT tools, better if related to web inquiry management IT tool. What's Next?
