The Translational Human Models group is now boosting its activities on different Rna therapeutic approaches to revert the molecular mechanisms causing specific altered cardiac phenotypes. In particular, different RNA-based strategies will be tested in cardiomyocytes derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) obtained from patients with inherited cardiomyopathy, with the final aim to restore the correct phenotype in these cells. A position for 1 year is offered to researchers that have recently taken their Master of Science in Biotechnology, Biology or related disciplines in the biomedicine field. Researchers with a recently earned PhD are also invited to participate.
**Tasks**:
The junior researcher will be involved in experimental work, including a broad range of state of the art molecular and cellular biology techniques and data evaluation.
Specifically the following tasks are foreseen:
- hiPSCs culture and cardiomyogenic differentiation
- hiPSC-derived CMs purification
- cloning techniques
- RNA delivery in hiPSC-derived CMs
- ddPCR, Western Blot etc.
- Immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy
- Multi-electrode arrays assays and analysis
**Requirements**:
- MSc in Biotechnology, Biology or related disciplines in the biomedicine field
- Standard cellular and molecular biology skills
- Previous experience with hiPSCs and/or hiPSC-derived CMs will be an advantage
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Familiarity with fundamental biostatistics concepts
- Possibility to start the job as soon as possible
