Portfolio Manager for Large Projects and International Development Terna, national transmission grid (NTG) operator, is actively engaged in the process of ecological transition and—as director of the electricity system and enabler of the energy transition—has the task of developing a grid capable of managing the ever-increasing integration of renewables and enabling the progressive decarbonisation of the system while constantly balancing energy produced and consumed.

Terna is seeking a Portfolio Manager for its Rome office to join the Large Projects and International Development Department in the Project Management Competence Centre (PMCC) division, functionally reporting to the department for Territorial Planning for Development Project Approval.
The successful candidate will join the PM Competence Centre team and will be responsible for:
Coordinating the design, consultation, authorisation and construction of infrastructure as well as the management of construction sites with relative assistance and supervision of works taking on the role of Project Manager in the Planning Phase and Project Manager in the Execution Phase, if delegated by the Customer.Ensuring the technical/economic planning of the Project, in line with the budget and deadlines indicated by the Client, as well as the management of the associated contracts.Managing the portfolio of projects assigned and under the responsibility of the PRA/Project Development department in the territory, ensuring the necessary actions are taken to meet the budget (costs, deadlines) and quality goals.Assisting the AUTHORIZATIONS AND NEGOTIATION department in conducting approval processes.Collaborating with the PLANNING POLICY department to promote project standards to optimise the approval process and shorten time frames.Coordinating the technical and economic assessments for any central or local requests and/or administrative requirements, assessing their impact on the approval process; coordinating, for the projects under their responsibility, the technical aspects overseen by the PRA/PD department in the territory and support the decisions made during participatory planning to optimise the approval process, including as regards the possible cost/benefit alternatives and solutions.If delegated by the Customer, complying with all the requirements and obligations provided for by Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 and other regulations on health and safety in the workplace as well as environmental protection; by Italian Legislative Decree 50/16 and respective implementation regulations in addition to the obligations provided for by the Consolidated Law on Construction (Italian Presidential Decree 380/2001) and the Consolidated Law on Expropriation (Italian Presidential Decree 327/2001).Guaranteeing the achievement of the project or assigned project portfolio performance targets in order to meet company goals and Stakeholder expectations.Guaranteeing that critical aspects are identified through detailed risk analysis and handled in a proactive and professional manner.Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Degree in Engineering.Excellent command of English language and excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365.Experience in Planning and Building complex infrastructure, with at least three years in the industry.Teamwork and problem-solving capabilities.Coordination and process-analysis skills.Flexibility and the ability to work in other sectors when managing different tasks.Knowledge of Project Management tools, certified by a recognised institute.Candidates should also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good planning and organisation skills, and be proactive and highly available to travel throughout the territory.
