**Job Description Summary**: At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.
The Lead Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for studying and writing down, CNC machines part programs.
In this role you will define the machining strategy, support the tooling selection and acquisition process, write down the CNC part programs of milling and a little experience turning using CAM programs.
**Essential Responsibilities**
- Follow the tests and the validation process of the CNC programs
- Review the operations sheets together with the manufacturing engineer in order to grant the manufacturability of the part and the optimization of the operation cycle time
- Define the machine to be used and the machining strategy, together with the manufacturing engineer and the fixture specialist
- Support the tooling and fixture selection and acquisition process
- Write down the CNC part programs from probing to completing roughing and finishing operations, using a CAM system like Unigraphics NX or similar and simulating with software like Vericut
- Schedule test and inspection activities in order to validate part program, tools and fixture realized for the production, reaching part conformities
- Insert all the documentation (CNC code, tools, fixtures) into Avio Aero PDM system properly and make it available for production use
- Solve potential issues linked with the use of the part programs on a wider sample of parts (after validation)
**Qualification/Requirements**
- High School Diploma preferred or at least specific training on CNC Programming topics (i.e. CAD tools/software simulation)
- Previous and strong experience in CNC programming, using CAD tools
- Ability to read mechanical engineering drawing, and technical specifications (norms, procedures, standards)
- Experience in making 3D model (CAD, CAM) of most typical parts involved in a machining process (i.e. cutting tools, fixtures, to carrying out mechanical work on inconel, and steel parts)
- Ability to select the most suitable cutting tools for mechanical, based on the part drawing to be realized (dimensional and geometrical tolerances)
- Experience with Vericut software simulation
- Direct experience with CNC programming of milling and little experience turning
- Fluent Italian and basic English knowledge
- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
