POSITION OVERVIEWThe Human Resources Director will act as a Business Partner to the General Manager, and with the rest of the leadership team will lead the re-opening of the resort and collectively make key strategic and operational decisions.
In conjunction with the Corporate HR team, the role is responsible for ensuring the local HR programme is aligned to business objectives, as well as implementing and leading innovative people-focused initiatives and practices throughout the property.
The role will advise the management team on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, performance management, budget, and labor relations.This position is based on property at Aman Rosa Alpina, San Cassiano Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy.RESPONSIBILITIESHR OperationWork closely with the General Manager on the overall People Development strategies of Amangiri.Ensure that HR operations policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to and continually improved.Manage all activities concerning the sourcing and recruitment, performance management, employee discipline administration.Counsel and give support to the leadership team.Supervise and coordinate all matters of work permits and visas.Maintain full personal data of each person's employment history.Learning and DevelopmentLiaise with the Training Manager to identify training needs for all levels/departments in the Resort.Develop training programmes and initiatives in line with Aman Service Standards and Experiences.Develop a Succession Plan and provide Career Development Training for those identified with high potential.Compensation and BenefitsEnsure the compensation and benefits are aligned to the luxury market.Implement corporate policies and put in place local policies and procedures for salaries, benefits, and incentives.Employee CommunicationManage communication of key messages, business strategies, vision values to all colleagues.Promote colleague communication activities and channels to encourage and enable feedback from them.Ensure employee grievances and disciplinary procedures are monitored and follow the correct procedure.Lead the implementation of employee recognition schemes.HR SystemEnsure that the Resort is effectively using the HR/Payroll/Time Attendance system including the management information and reporting capability of the product.Be responsible for the accurate maintenance of information used in the HR information system including payroll, personal details, leaves, and attendance.Employee Accommodation and TransportationSupervise and coordinate all matters of colleague accommodation, facilities, and transport.QUALIFICATIONSProven background and progression in Human Resources with a current level of Director of HR preferably in hospitality.Knowledge of local employment law.Experience of Learning and Development is an advantage.Highly skilled in problem analysis, problem solving, and decision making.Must possess strategic vision and be able to think outside the box.
This role involves questioning current practices and working with stakeholders to establish better ways of working for gaps identified.Ability to lead, motivate, and develop colleagues.Strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills in English, and an ability to communicate at all levels including Ownership and Corporate Executive Team.Financially savvy with the ability to improve the bottom line.Innovative and well-versed with technology and new efficient ways of working, which helps take Human Resources to the next level.University degree or Diploma in HR Management desirable.Fluency in English and Italian is essential.
