**The opportunity**
Able is actively seeking a highly qualified Head/VP of Engineering to serve as a key member of the leadership team and lead all aspects of engineering at Able.
This leader will manage a growing team and report directly to the CEO.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage and coordinate the day to day output of the engineering team
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to set overall strategic direction and help to lead the company through scaling the organization from product market fit to international market leader.
- Support the company in developing and delivering on the technical roadmap for the global implementation of Able's data, SaaS and marketplace solutions.
- Lead our team of engineers and be responsible for scaling the team to meet the needs of the business and enable us to meet our strategic goals.
- Being responsible for leading the exploration and implementation of new technology within the company to enhance our product and give us the competitive edge
- Owning the specification, architecture, and implementation of our SaaS solution working closely with our Product team
- Being hands on and driving forward key development areas and breaking down challenges
- Developing an infrastructure and technical architecture that is built for speed and scalability
- Short and long term engineering and resource planning to meet goals
- Attracting and hiring great talent - employees, freelancers and advisers
- Nurturing and growing our culture of problem solving, testing and shared learning
- Ensuring clear and constantly improving delivery and quality assurance processes
- Set, monitor and hit KPIs for yourself and your team
**About you**
- 10+ years of experience in software development and technical operations
- Experience scaling an early stage engineering organization
- Data-driven, evidence-based, and transparent approach to making decisions
- High-growth leadership abilities, comfortable managing startup culture, where speed of delivery is just as important as the processes
- A team player who is scrappy and possesses an ability to get things done
- Passion for "tech for good" and a desire to have a purposeful day job
- Leading technology strategy and architecture to enable scalability and reliability
- Leading cloud-based architecture, platform, and integration strategy
- Building proprietary data assets and infrastructure
