As of September 2023, a dedicated Team focused on the strategic management of the Glass Category has been created within the Global Procurement Organization, located at the HQ in Sesto San Giovanni (MI).
Covering EMEA, Americas and APAC Regions, the key strategic activities are based and developed through 4 identified pillars: Availability (Glass Portfolio management), Profitability (Glass Spend and COGS contribution), Sustainability (ESG targets achievement), Operational Excellence (Glass Portfolio complexity management)
With a direct reporting line into the EMEA Glass Buyer, the EMEA Glass Junior Buyer will support the Global Glass Team organization with the implementation of strategic projects related to the Global Glass strategy, with a specific focus in supporting and enabling the EMEA Regional glass strategy.
On top, under the supervision of the EMEA Glass Buyer, he/she will manage other identified operational tasks based on specific needs and priorities.
This position is meant to be on a temporary basis - 6 months (extendible to 12 months) Key Responsibilities and Activities Under the guidance of the EMEA Glass Buyer:
He/she ensures support and execution of the Global Glass Strategy within the EMEA Regional perimeter, which includes Italy, France, Greece, UK.Collaborates with Business Stakeholders and EMEA Procurement teams for the implementation of the Glass Category strategyCollaborates and liaises with other Functions (R&D, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing etc.) to support and manage Procurement priorities and targetsIdentifies and prioritizes category opportunities / synergies over the 4 Procurement Pillars and quantify potential benefitsAnalyzes Glass Category data and performance against the set of identified KPI's. When necessary contributes to the definition of new relevant KPIs for the CategorySupport the development of the SRM program within the Region.Suggests the optimization of the Category efficiency through implementing supplier, product & process standardization and automation in close alignment with Global Procurement COEContributes to Cost Optimization initiatives beyond the prices negotiationReports and analyzes regular category-specific productivity results within the dedicated tools (eg. Sievo)Analyses CPRM for cost transparency & controlAssists jointly programs with Suppliers in line with our Sustainability targetAssists the EMEA Glass Buyer with the financial analysis of the Category PPV cost evolution vs. the Budget.Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsSupports continuous improvement of business processes and IT systems.Joins supplier performance review meetingsBe recognized as business partner and added-valuer contributorKey Relationships Internal: EMEA Glass Buyer, Global Glass Team members, Regional Procurement Managers, Regional Quality Managers, Finance Team, Marketing Team, Planning Team, Manufacturing Team
External: Suppliers, external consultants eventually involved in projects.
Experience & Education & Skills 2-4 years of proven experience within Procurement organizations departments of multinational companies in consumer goods industry, preferably with a focus on Procurement of Glass and/or other Primary Packaging materials.Familiar with cross-cultural environments and working across different countries at multiple organizational levelsBusiness economics or Engineering background preferredExcel, PowerPoint software management are a mustFluency of English and Italia is a must, knowledge of another languages is a plusInternational working experience is a plusPersonal attributes Commercial and negotiation attitudes, Teamworking orientedShares innovative ideas and consistently demonstrates openness to the opinions and views of othersSolid communication capabilityStrong cross-functional collaboration abilityTrust-based relationship builder with key internal and external stakeholders
