Within the Group Advisory & Financing Solutions franchise, Global Syndicate is a global product function of UniCredit's Debt Markets with teams in Milan and Munich.
The broader Global Syndicate team oversees all debt syndicated activities for the bank's clients, including:
Corporate clients, within IG/NIG space;Financial sponsor clients active in the LBO and Infrastructure & Energy markets;Asset Base Financing (ABF), including infrastructure, energy, natural resources, and export finance financings.Within the Global Syndicate franchise, we have 2 professionals fully dedicated to Asset Base Financing, split between Munich and Milan, covering all geographies where UniCredit is active.
What we do:Supporting ABF (ex RE) as well as Coverage (both Corporate and Financial Sponsors) in structuring project/export and infra-acquisition financings, in alignment with the "Originate-to-Distribute" mandate set by Senior Management in the context of our "UniCredit Unlocked" strategic plan.Structuring and Pricing syndicated loans, overseeing their execution, and managing the distribution to prospective lenders/investors.Assessing underwriting opportunities and managing underwriting positions, in cooperation with market coverage, DCM, and senior risk management.Distributing syndicated loans to the wider banking community as well as to institutional investors, via loans/private placements/securitization vehicles (ex L130/99 in Italy).Liaising with Credit Risk Insurance providers (directly or via dedicated brokerage firm) as part of the distribution strategy identified for each transaction.Preparing market updates, reporting, and business updates as required from time to time by internal and external requests.What you'll be doing:Create and maintain contact with key banks/investors and other sources of market intelligence to secure transaction referrals and support targeted business growth.Assist with the origination, underwriting, and structuring of syndicated transactions to achieve successful syndication.Participate in internal meetings with origination teams and support transactions in credit committees.Create pitchbooks, undertake pricing comparables, and coordinate with Coverage and Origination to jointly pitch and win mandates.Prepare syndication, pricing, and underwriting opinions.Review and negotiate legal documentation (e.g., fee letter, syndication letter, mandate letter), with a focus on credit points relevant for the orderly distribution of the deal in the market.Assist and lead (as required) the syndication process for syndicated loans - distribution strategy, distribution mandates, bookrunning, and successful execution of distribution, also through ad-hoc data rooms.Maintain internal reporting activities in cooperation with other departments within Global Syndicate.What you'll need to succeed:3-5 years relevant working experience in the infrastructure space.
