Job Description The Group Advanced Analytics and Automation Solutions function is in charge of driving the execution of key Artificial Intelligence projects at Group level, related both to AI-driven automation and AI recommendations/predictions to support the Generali growth. The function is also responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving a library of central shared analytics / automation services, leveraging cutting-edge technologies, algorithms, and methodologies, available for the BUs through a central platform.

Within this organization the Generative AI Solutions unit is in charge of the design, development and the deploy of solutions and pipelines that leverage on LLMs. As a Data Scientist, you will take part in international projects and initiatives in collaboration with our 50+ Business Units, having the opportunity to gain full ownership on AI applications from the design to the delivery in all the different sectors and countries where Generali operates. On top of project delivery, you will have the chance to experiment the most innovative technologies and approaches to continuously enrich the Group library of Generative AI Services.

These include:
Prompt engineering sophisticationState-of-the-Art algorithms for NLPLeverage on LLMs to build custom solutions (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face transformers, LLama, Mistral) and model optimization for deploy at scale (for example NVIDIA Triton, ONNX, TorchScript)Dataset creation and maintenance Main tasks:
Support the project set-up, the analysis of the as-is processes, the creation of a business case, and the design of the target end-to-end solution, including the models and data needed to maximize the business impactDevelop end-to-end AI projects (data pre-processing, algorithm selection, training, evaluation/test, and code-base maintenance)Present and explain the projects results and the solution's performances to the business stakeholdersResearch bleeding-edge techniques and tools to bring new research topics and methodologies from paper to production and contribute to the library of ready-to-use shared algorithms used worldwide Requirements Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
Master's degree in STEM disciplines (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)At least 2 years of experience as a data scientist or AI/ML engineerKnowledge of the main LLMs (GPT, Claude, Llama, Mistral, ... )Knowledge of LLM libraries (LangChain, LLamaIndex, ...) and their underlying working principlesExperience in Prompt EngineeringStrong theoretical and practical knowledge of the main NLP techniquesGood knowledge of written and spoken English (B2 or higher)Strong problem-solving, analytical and deductive skills, creativity, and determinationAbility to work in a team, operational autonomy, proactivity, high level of commitment and result orientedProficiency with at least one programming languages (Python, Java, C, C++, ...)Proficiency with Data Science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Numpy, ...)Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating Statistical or Machine Learning models (clustering, classification, regression, forecasting, ...) The following experiences/competences are all considered as a strong plus:
