Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent (lesser qualification + equivalent work experience). 5+ years' experience in a high-volume mission-critical operational environment (e.g. data center, healthcare, high technology manufacturing, large scale production, aviation maintenance) preferably 7x24x365 operational experience & responsibilities. First-hand knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, employee relations, leadership techniques, operational performance, and coordination of people and resources. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Full EU/IT driving license. Job Title: Engineering Operations Facility Manager (AWS Data Centre) The Engineering Operations Facility Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of the performance of the data centre infrastructure within a specific location. The role requires a driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems.
Key Responsibilities: Setting and maintaining the highest standard for safety and actively promoting a world-class safety culture. Managing key performance metrics for large scale Data Centres across multiple AWS owned and Co-location sites. Delivering 100% uptime on all customer supporting infrastructure. Strategic planning and execution of all corrective and preventative maintenance activities on all mission-critical infrastructure. Managing strong technical teams and ensuring operational excellence and career development. Successful delivery of strategic projects on critical infrastructure. Managing vendor performance by consistently setting high standards and conducting regular performance reviews. Adopting and planning corporate risk strategy. Critical Event Response readiness including planning and incident management. Managing relationships between cross-functional teams. Additional Qualifications: 10 years relevant industry related experience. Demonstrate key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory. Know and apply safe electrical practice according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies. Strong working knowledge and experience of Data Center infrastructure including UPS and backup generator systems.
