AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER he/she will be in charge of the Control and Safety Systems for international Oil & Gas projects, handling complex Control Systems engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a project and/or specific complex supply such as DCS, SIS, FGS, BMS, MMS, CCS Systems. The Senior Control Systems Engineer will report to the Lead Automation Engineer assigned to the Project and to the Department Automation Group Leader.
Functional job responsibilities:
To read, analyze, review and mechanize P&IDs; To develop and review Block Diagrams, Control Narratives, Sequence Flow Charts, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Instrument Loop Diagrams- To populate and maintain Project Control Systems I/Os Databases - To properly interpret and apply codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of Control Systems design products - To develop Discipline Specifications and Requisitions - To evaluate Specifications and Vendor Quotations - To support Packages/Mechanical Systems Department reviewing Packages/Mechanical Systems suppliers data and descriptions to determine control and instrumentation functional requirements - To assume responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control - To review Control Systems Vendor Functional Design Specifications/Drawings/Procedures/Manuals to ensure their technical compliance - To attend and perform Control Systems FAT/IFAT and SAT and witnessing the compliance of vendor in meeting the project requirements - To learn the latest technology in instrumentation and controls in order to maintain current proficiency in the industry, and be able to make the best technology recommendations - To interact with Client representatives, Vendors and Subcontractors for technical topics - To guarantee assistance to the Inspection, Construction and Commissioning Departments as per project needs - To support the proposal efforts in projects bids preparing man-hour estimates and planning activities for proposals as required
Requirements/Qualifications Master's Degree in Automation & Control Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 6/8 years in the role; Past experiences as a Senior Control Systems Engineer with Reputed International EPC Contractor on mid to large scale projectDetailed knowledge, with direct experience with Control and Safety Systems (i.e. DCS, ESD/SIS, F&G, PLCs, MMS, CCS, RTU, SCADA)SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) knowledgePast experience on plant erection and commissioning as Control Systems Field Engineer and/or Control Systems Field Supervisor in Oil & Gas industryPlace of work Milan HO - Availability to travel for short and long period in Italy and abroad
Contract type:permanent, salary packagecommensurate with the level of experience.
