We are looking for an individual to help assist in the design and delivery of the Youth Employment Support Program at the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg. This program equips newcomer youth (aged 15-30) to acquire the skills, learning experience and opportunities they need to find and maintain employment and help create a positive impact in their community.
The Program Assistant will be responsible for:
Assisting in the development and coordination of programming. Recruiting newcomer youth facing barriers to the employment market in Winnipeg to participate in the program. Providing employment support. Why work at the Y? Are you the right fit? Assist in the planning and development of the program, emphasizing best practices in employment programming for refugee youth. Offer leadership, guidance, and supervision to participants, consultants, and trainers of the program. Cultivate and maintain effective partnerships with external organizations, such as support agencies, community associations, and small businesses. Deliver training and coaching and provide onsite supervision and constructive feedback to external trainers to ensure quality program delivery. Engage new participants through building strong networks, initiating/attending meetings, planning sessions, training and events. Deliver face-to-face programming with youth participants (aged 15-30) in a positive and professional manner. Complete internal case management; e.g., track courses, manage registration/waiting lists, monitor program statistics. Assist in the administration and monitoring of program budget, organize and schedule classes, tours, and events. What else do you need? Educational background in Business, Management, Career Development, Settlement Services, Youth Development. Combination of experience will be considered. Career Development Practitioner (CDP) is an asset. Minimum of 1 year experience working with youth (age 15-30). Experience developing/delivering employment programming is an asset. Knowledge and understanding of working with Vulnerable Sector. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Proven leadership abilities and effective verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database platforms, and competence in departmental budgeting and financial management.
