As a Weathering & Corrosion Analyst, you will follow experimental procedures, generate reliable data, and consistently demonstrate the ability to perform data analysis. Leading independent projects or portions of larger projects requires strong analytical skills, project management capabilities, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities Perform non-destructive inspection procedures, such as surface profile and film thickness measurements, and recognizing design and fabrication defects as well as coating failure modes. Create technical reports summarizing inspection findings. Analyze and interpret experimental results acquired. Maintain and communicate results through written and verbal reports. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and conduct technical studies and reports with only general direction from a group or project leader. Cooperate with different colleagues and functions within all PPG divisions and external parties (i.e. Marketing, other areas of R&D, Suppliers/Customers). Apply intensive and diverse knowledge of principles and practices in areas of assignment and related fields. Independently make decisions on problems and methodology issues and secure necessary resources. Ensure compliance with regional EU and national quality standards and safety norms. Qualifications Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of chemistry and coatings technology, including the role of protective coatings in preventing corrosion and light exposure defects. Familiarity with ISO/ASTM methods is appreciated. Has intermediate English working proficiency knowledge. A master's degree in chemistry or an equivalent field is preferred. Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of Office and digital systems. Utilizes the scientific method, laboratory procedures, and data analysis techniques.
