Wage: Operator I $19.43-$29.15 hourly, Operator II $21.98-$32.98 hourly, Operator III $24.02-$36.02 hourly

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining water treatment plant/well supply systems and related equipment to provide quality drinking water for public use.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Typical workweek requires working Monday – Friday, schedule is subject to change to accommodate business necessity. The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoor environment that may include working in adverse weather conditions and hazards involving the use of power tools and equipment and exposure to hazardous material. Employee may be required to carry, push/pull objects and materials up to 100 pounds.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training in water treatment plant operations, water distribution systems and equipment maintenance, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License CDL Class A with Air Brake Endorsement or the ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire.
OPERATOR I: one (1) to two (2) years relevant work experience and/or training. Required: Must have ADEQ Grade I Water Treatment Plant Operator and ADEQ Grade I Water Distribution or ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire. Preferred: Arizona Grade II Water Treatment Plant Operator and ADEQ Grade II Water Distribution.
OPERATOR II: two (2) to three (3) years relevant work experience and/or training. Required: Must have ADEQ Grade II Water Treatment Plant Operator, ADEQ Grade II Water Distribution and ADEQ Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or ability to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire. Preferred: Arizona Grade III Water Treatment Plant Operator.
OPERATOR III: two (2) to three (3) years relevant work experience and/or training. Required: Must have ADEQ Grade II Water Treatment Plant Operator, ADEQ Grade III Water Distribution and ADEQ Grade II Wastewater Collection or ability to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire. Preferred: two (2) years' experience in a ADEQ Grade IV water treatment plant with one (1) year experience at a Grade II Water Treatment Plant Operator with an ADEQ Grade III Water Distribution and ADEQ Grade III Wastewater Collection.
