Wage: $22.53 - $33.79 hourly (Full Range)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater treatment plan systems and related equipment to ensure proper operations. Controls wastewater treatment plant operations in accordance with all established regulations, standards, and procedures. Performs inspection, operation and maintenance of lift stations, electrical controls, pumps, devices, and valves. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance. Performs and documents compliance with testing process, calculations, and formulas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally performed in an outdoor environment; work schedule is generally M-Fri, 6:00am – 2:30pm and may be subject to change. Work may involve moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. Employees in this position will need to stand, stoop, walk, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and/or heavy objects and may perform other similar actions during the workday. The Town of Florence promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using pre-employment and Department of Transportation mandated drug testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by vocational/technical training in wastewater treatment plant operations and collection systems; plus, one (1) to two (2) years relevant work experience and/or training involving wastewater treatment plant operations, wastewater collection systems, and equipment maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Arizona Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate and Grade II Wastewater Collection Systems Certification within one (1) year of employment. Grade I Water Distribution and Treatment Certification within one (1) year of obtaining the position.
Preferred:
Arizona Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate and Grade II Wastewater Collections Systems Certificate. Grade I Water Distribution and Treatment Certificate.
Must have and keep a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement License or the ability to obtain it within one (1) year from date of hire.
