Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.JOB PURPOSE:Conducts Warranty claims adjudication to a detailed level, making rejection/acceptance decisions based on the financial and technical credibility/accuracy/validity of the claim, challenges validity of claims.JOB DUTIES:The primary duties are to make warranty rejection and acceptance decisions, approving those up to $2,000 and making recommendations on referral to the Warranty Supervisor or Warranty Manager for those greater than $2,000.
This requires the incumbent to have a comprehensive understanding of all warranty rules and procedures.
Must be capable of discussing and advising warranty policy and process improvement.
The incumbent must also be able to deal with detailed financial Warranty claims adjudication.The role also involves supplier recovery and the incumbent is responsible for validation and submittal of claims to the appropriate suppliers.
Therefore, the incumbent must have a good knowledge of supplier warranty terms and conditions, as well as supplier warranty administration procedures.The incumbent is actively involved in process improvement and reengineering (including documentation), failure costs trend analysis, reporting, and training.
To recommend improvements that will improve customer performance.
Provide early identification of product issues critical for the reduction of warranty costs and margin growth.
The incumbent will be an active team member on 6 Sigma projects.Typical internal customers include various contacts in a portion of Caterpillar worldwide operations.
External contacts include various companies who purchase services offered by Caterpillar.
The position is challenged to carefully evaluate problems and review a large number of possible solutions before selecting one option.
Problems may be complex and can require the incumbent to develop solutions.

Personal computer skills and familiarity with various software packages are required.The position typically requires an engineering or technical HNC/HND or two to three years of job-related experience.Position initiates communication with others outside of immediate work group to work on new ideas or to counsel others, etc.
