We are currently looking for an experienced Car Systems Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for completing the design of engine systems, fuel system, gearbox cooling system, and integration of these into the whole car package. For the specific components assigned, you will be responsible for contributing to concept through detailed design, supporting documentation, and problem resolution.
Mechanical Design
Work under the guidance of the team leader to support design work with concept and aerodynamic departments to maximize car systems' impact on overall car performance. Ensure that all design work is fit for purpose and take ownership of the quality of parts designed. Complete detailed design of car systems components and installations assigned on target according to planned deadlines. Clearly communicate with members of the group in a timely manner and support everyone in meeting their targets. Maintain and develop good relationships with other departments. Contribute to car performance with ideas for improvement and highlight any potential issues seen. Keep up-to-date with all the latest technical developments which can be applied. Ensure designs are released on target and to agreed specifications. Professionalism
Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects. Fluency in English. Qualified to at least bachelor degree level in an Engineering Discipline. Extensive Automotive design experience, ideally related experience in F1. Knowledge of metallic material uses and treatments. Basic understanding of composite materials and their production. Experienced user of tools such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar. Ability to scope new tasks thoroughly. Able to communicate clearly and concisely. Take the initiative and demonstrate innovation.
