RINA is currently recruiting for a Site Construction Supervision Engineer to join its office in Genoa, or Rome or Naples or Lecce, Italy within the Italy Infrastructure & Mobility Division.
Mission
The Infrastructure Site Engineer focuses on overseeing complex civil engineering projects. The Site Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing and controlling, including from a technical and financial perspective, the execution of the works carried out under the Construction Contract signed between the Contractor and the Client.
Key Accountabilities
Direction and high-level supervision of the works with periodic site visits to ensure:
- The compliance of the project in all its parts;
- The execution of all works in accordance with the special conditions of the contract;
- The execution of all works in compliance with technical standards and all applicable regulations, including adopting all necessary measures to ensure the proper and perfect functionality of the works.-The complete administrative compliance of the executed works, the executive documentation, and the completeness of accounting records.
Responsibility for:
- The acceptance of materials and the qualitative and quantitative control;
- Ensuring the obligations of the Contractor and the Subcontractor are met;
- Verifying compliance with the applicable regulations concerning the submission of structural project designs and obtaining the necessary authorization for works in seismic risk zones;
- Liquidating partial and final accounts through the measurement of works and supplies.
Collection, verification, and approval of as-built documents, conformity certificates issued by the installing/supplying companies, both in paper and digital format.
Assistance with the final inspection of the works.
Reporting to the RUP (Project Manager) any non-compliance with contractual obligations by the Contractor.
Verification, control, and updating of the Maintenance Plan for the works.
Verification, control, and updating of the Work Schedule.
Accounting performed according to applicable regulations in the following areas:
- Work journal
- Measurement books of works and supplies (if necessary)
- Accounting records
- Summary of the Accounting Register
- Work Progress Reports
- Certificates for the payment of installments
- Final account and the related report
Management of changes and claims.
Education
Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
Qualifications
- Up to 10 years of experience in site engineering or a related field.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities.
- In-depth understanding of engineering principles, standards, and industry best practices.
- Technical writing and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and security procedures.
- Proficiency both in Italian and in English.
