Job Name: Vessel Operations EngineerJob Type: PermanentCountry: ItalyCity: FanoState: FLLanguages:URL:Position: Vessel Operations EngineerWork location: Fano, Italy (Mobility to travel to all international locations for short business trips or missions).Work/leave rotation: 35/35 (35 paid working days followed by 35 unpaid leave days).Qualifications:EngineeringEnglish level: B2 - C1YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3-5Mission:Provide engineering reviews, address operation, advise (directly and indirectly) best practices both in the tender and in the projects to the Project Operation Manager (or delegate) to assist in the achievement of project/tender objectives, according to the plan/procedures developed by the engineering project team.Tasks:The Engineer shall ensure compliance with QA/QCHSE requirements and:Review project documentation reporting errors/omissions and suggest improvements considering advices from vessel operations management.Assist in liaising with Client Representatives/subcontractors.Assist in monitoring progress of work/site conditions and promptly advise if changes to project schedule/execution sequence may occur.When onboard support Vessel Management Team in planning/execution of work/project contractualtechnical requirements.Participate to resolution of any technical problems.Supervise execution of diving, precommissioning, post trenching and hook-up.Provide operational input/support to onshore project teams.Liaise with Installation Engineers during preparatory/mobilisation/installation phase.Review installation procedures/loadout/seafastening plans for material/structures offshore transportation to ensure safe/timely installation.Ensure completeness of construction materials/consumables lists liaising with Project Coordinator for timely procurement/delivery.Coordinate with Mobile Equipment, Asset, Piptec, ROV, Trenching, precommissioning, Hook-up to ensure that all necessary personnel/equipment are timely available.Witness/inspect pre-rigging/loadouts/seafastening activities.Identify any deviations from procedures and manage as requested.Coordinate with Fabrication Dept for loadout of fabricated structures/installation aids.Provide input/feedback for engineering close out report to improve departmental standards/working methods/guidelines.Lead project planning efficiency optimisation (installation aids re-use, tensioner pad change-outs, equipment mob/demob, ROV tooling consistency).Be involved in project HAZIDs/HIRAs and Track of tasks.Verify that relevant schedules reconcile with present vessel productivity.Assist with project management specific third-party contractors confirming all technical/operational contractual aspects are observed.Provide technical assistance to all offshore personnel to permit work is implemented in accordance with approved procedure and Company's minimum standard.Provide all necessary technical briefings to offshore personnel ensuring that overall project working/safety philosophy is fully understood by all personnel.Assist vessels mobilisation/demobilisation to ensure that all equipment is handled in correct manner and everyone involved is aware of all safety/technical aspects of operation.Note any contractual variations during project ensuring all necessary documentation is in place to support commercial claims disputed upon project completion and manage as requested.IT SKILLS: Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft ProjectSOFT SKILLS: A strong work ethic, willing to working in highly changeable environments, meeting tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality outcomes.
Skilled in the co-ordination of multiple interfaces across functions.Nice To Have:Extensive offshore experience having worked onboard pipelay/construction vessels (ideally previously Field Engineer or similar).Knowledge of subsea construction, onshore fabrication recommended.Able to demonstrate commitment to HSE and keen to promote safe practices.Committed to collaborative working in a multi-location team environment.Good understanding of Saipem products, activities and assets.
