Define and lead all the in-house project activities related to Verification, Integration, and Testing, either performed by the VV team, delegated to experts, or external laboratories.
He/she will also be responsible for the execution of the type test activities on the railway vehicles, required for validation and authorization.
He/she will report to the VV and Testing Manager within the Engineering function.
He/she will be involved in the design phase in due time to understand the product architecture and specifications and will take the lead of testing work packages on the vehicle.What you will be working on:Establish the Project Verification and Validation (VV) strategy to ensure comprehensive coverage and proof that customer and design specifications are fulfilled.Gather input from all relevant stakeholders, such as the Engineering, Test Commissioning teams.Develop and agree on the schedule for VV activities.
Conduct verification of both system and subsystem requirements.Create the project Requirement Validation Table to confirm the validation of technical requirements.
Organize and lead documentation verification and review sessions.Review the test specifications made by the system specialists and issue the test procedures where necessary.Lead the internal or external engineers eventually contributing to the test specification and execution activities.Support in the execution of tests on the vehicles, including the preparation/check of the relevant test reports.Problem-solving during the test execution, in order to identify the reasons for test failure, find solutions, and be able to continue with the tests.
In case of need, liaise with the system specialist and agree with him the troubleshooting path.Interact with the specialists, the suppliers, the test labs, and the assessors to solve issues related to the testing, report possible improvements, and in case of design changes required, raise the relevant change requests.Assist the specialist tests as required, including the tests performed by external laboratories.Create verification and validation reports to support gate reviews and commissioning processes.
Collaborate with experts from various engineering disciplines to produce Design Verification Reports.Track and report on the activities delegated to experts, ensuring their execution, coordinate with Test and Commissioning teams for the planning and execution of Site Acceptance Tests.Represent the company in meetings with customers, partners, suppliers, and auditors, providing summaries of test strategies, progress, issues, risks, and opportunities.Ensure independent verification from the design process.Do you have:1-3 years of experience in similar positions in the rolling stock manufacturing business.Engineering studies, Master Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering are preferred.Knowledge of vehicle design and integration principles, especially hands-on knowledge of railway vehicles.Knowledge of the railway standards, with special attention to testing and authorization requirements is a plus.Knowledge of vehicle operation.Understanding of complex systems architectures, functional testing, drawings, and electrical schematics.Practical experience in handling, reading, and understanding the vehicle diagnostics.Practical experience in lab and vehicle testing, instrumentation, and measurements is an advantage.Willingness to spend the required time at the locations where the tests are performed (factory, test ring, railway network, depot).Passion for railway products, team worker, organized, rigorous and structured mindset, problem-solving oriented, communicative, flexible.Well-structured multi-disciplinary approach with the ability to work in close cooperation with others.Language: fluent English and Italian, both written and spoken.What we offer youPermanent contract.Exciting work in a leading international railway company.Evolving and challenging environment.LocationSavona Office or Caserta plant (preferred option).R - Industrial Quality Engineer/Technician #J-18808-Ljbffr
