YOUR TEAM You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where material, mechanical and electronic engineers, computational scientists, physicists, chemists, biotechnologists, and biologists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Smart Healthcare Technologies Research line is coordinated by Prof. Massimo De Vittorio, who has extensive experience in the development of science and technology applied to nanophotonics, nanoelectronics, and nano and micro electromechanical systems (NEMS/MEMS) for applications in the fields of life-science, energy, and ICT.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Your main responsibilities will be planning and carrying out the experimental activities in the framework of a technological platform aimed at the development and optimization of novel methods for:
Application of US-based technologies mediated by biological and synthetic acoustic reporters for bioimaging;Application of US technologies for non-viral transfection method;The activity is aimed at the implementation of advanced technologies for developing novel methods for imaging, sensing, and non-viral US transfection. Within this position, you will design and conduct laboratory experiments, develop methodology, and then interpret and utilize scientific data to further develop advanced theranostics and novel cell therapy platforms. You will operate in a world-class laboratory equipped with a wide range of fabrication and characterization facilities. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary community specially organized to develop know-how ranging among neurophysiology, sleep disorders health, vital parameters sensors development, signal read-out, processing, and machine learning.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA PhD in a scientific discipline, preferentially in Physics or Engineering (or related discipline);Research experience in the field of:
Ultrasound imaging;Cell biology or related scientific area;Cancer immunotherapy, immunology, and/or oncology;CAR T cell immunology, including the use of NSG/NRG mice, flow cytometry, confocal imaging, cell culture, and next-generation sequencing and omics analysis;Cell culture of primary and established human immune cells;Adenoviral transduction and lentiviral transduction;In vivo and in vitro models for CAR T cell development and functional characterization;Strong understanding of the current landscape of the CAR T cell therapy space. Familiarity with gold standard analytic approaches.
