The Trade Finance Specialist plays a pivotal role in facilitating international trade transactions by ensuring the efficient processing and management of trade finance products. This position requires a deep understanding of global trade practices, financial instruments, and compliance regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process and manage a variety of trade finance transactions including letters of credit, documentary collections, and open account transactions.
- Review financial statements of customers and analyze creditworthiness
- Prepare company internal financial statements and make sure all invoices are in orders
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Review and validate trade documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients involved in trade finance entities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and compliance, to ensure seamless execution of trade finance transactions.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential risks in global trade finance.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Regular reporting on cash and facility usage, including review of bank costs, products and contracts.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field. (Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade finance operations and/or banks operations.
- Accounting skills are mandatory
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and mitigate risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Good understanding of the Commodity Trade Finance Business, including, but not limited to, Letters of Credit, Factoring, Trade Guarantees, Bonds, Collections, ARP, Supplier finance.
- Fluent in English required; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
