Job Summary Provide process inputs for plant performance, operating cases optimization, modifications, complex troubleshooting, turnarounds, engineering studies and investigations to optimize the cost of operating units and facilities, either independently or as a Team Member Looking for a competent PBR (Poly Butadaiene Rubber) process engineer to help enhance plant performance.
Key Responsibilities: Assess unit operation and instruct corrective action to resolve process problems. Develop monthly performance reports for related units in Jubail and Yanbu using tools such as APAC, Ex-aquantum, DCS trends, PRO II, Uniformance, DYNAMO, etc. Suggest improvements for process control strategies. Review and assess the overall performance of plants and equipment, such as compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, etc. Identify losses and propose recommendations for improvement. Provide necessary support to operations staff during shutdown, start-up, complex troubleshooting, and critical or emergency situations. Ensure plant process integrity through a well-defined operating envelope and proper monitoring of critical process parameters. Contribute to Process Safety by monitoring Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPI) and proposing improvements. Support the implementation of standards and recommendations from the industry (EIGA, API, etc.). Participate in Alarm Management committee and MOC review committee. Participate and/or lead process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for revalidations and projects. Act as SHE element administrator or Sub-element committee member. Prepare study reports and/or process specifications for proposals for plant changes/modifications (MOC), projects, and technical ideas initiated. Support definition and implementation of Capital projects by providing input for conceptual Design Package (CDP), technical input to 'Invitation to Bid' (ITB), and technical support during execution. Contribute and provide technical support for investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives. Utilize reliability methodologies (RCM, RBI, RIS, ACA). Interact and handle communication with Licensors, Suppliers, This Company Technology and Innovation (T&I), Asset Technology Center (ATC), other affiliates, and vendors. Provide engineering input for scope of work preparation and technical evaluation for external services. Assist the Process Engineering Manager in additional duties such as contribution to people development. Follow up and close RCA, PHA, PIR, and audit recommendations. Provide technical input to resolve customer queries. Contribute to energy and sustainability programs by optimizing chemical, power, and water consumption. Requirements: This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Minimum 10 years as a Process Engineer (Technical Support) in the relevant field. Project experience, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of chemical/ASU plants is an added qualification. Familiarity with international standards, codes, and regulations. Experience utilizing simulation programs. Strong technical, cost analysis, and technical writing skills. Experience with Process Elastomer in manufacturing PBR (Poly Butadiene Rubber). Good knowledge of Thermodynamics, Process/Equipment design, operation, and control of chemicals. Excellent communication skills. Ability to build personal rapport and motivation required for effective coaching of internal staff and collaboration with external groups. Team player with the ability to work independently. Initiative and innovative thinking. Leadership skills. Ability to work under pressure and stress. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
