We are looking for a Thermodynamic Engineer to join our Engineering - ETO Chiller team in Tognana, Italy.
Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, this position will collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Marketing/Application Engineers, Sales, and Production teams.
What will you do in our team?
Design new products or improve existing ones based on specific client needs, balancing quality, time, and cost targets with market, production, and industrialization requirements.
Develop offers for special products, ensuring quality, time, and cost targets are met.
Collaborate with the Marketing department on feasibility and quotation phases for special units.
Interface with other departments and work with Application Engineers, SFA Managers, and the Chief HPAC RD Engineer.
Ensure compliance with international trade controls and legal regulations for product trade.
Contribute to new RD projects in data center cooling for high-profile global customers as needed.
Approve and review product documentation, including CAD drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
Essential functions Design product features, choosing and sizing main components.
Analyze and resolve technical issues for assigned products.
Process and review basic product documentation.
Select solutions and size main components for special products.
Evaluate the use of obsolete parts and find alternative materials for SFA projects.
Quote SFAs, collaborating with Procurement, Planning, and Suppliers.
Calculate costs of designed solutions with the SFA manager.
Participate in final testing and solve SFA problems.
Manage marketing requests and work effectively in teams.
Ensure compliance with ITC regulations and safety and quality standards.
What will make you successful?
Position Eligibility Requirements: Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles.
Understanding of refrigerant, hydraulic, and mechanical components of chillers and air conditioning unit construction.
Familiarity with technical norms and management computer systems.
Proficiency in technical drawings.
Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Basic understanding of refrigerating cycle thermodynamics, thermal exchange, and fluid dynamics of water and air.
Knowledge of adjustment and control principles for thermo-technical machines and systems.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Basic knowledge of electrical components.
Strong communication, initiative, professionalism, and teamwork skills.
Basic Qualifications: Degree in Engineering with a Thermo-Technical specialization.
3-5 years of experience, preferably in the HVAC sector.
