About the job
We offer an interesting job opportunity within Business Unit Brazed & Fusion Bonded Heat Exchangers for you who enjoys working with Key Customers in a Global Market.
You will be based at the new Alfa Laval site in San Bonifacio, Italy and belong to the R&D department.
You report to the Thermal and Plate design Manager in Lund, Sweden.

Key tasks
- Participate in development projects as part of a cross-functional project team where the thermal aspects will be your responsibility area.
- Thermal prognosis and analysis, thermal test specification, evaluations and problem solving are typical tasks.
- CFD Simulations involving heat transfer between fluids in 1ph
- and 2ph flows (evaporation/condensation)
- Specify, follow tests and evaluate test results in our 2-phase test laboratory will be part of your everyday activities.
- You will work in close cooperation with other Thermal Specialists, Test Laboratory Engineers, Development Engineers and Application Specialists as well as key customers.
- You will have international contacts, mainly in Sweden
Who are you?
You have a master's degree within Physics, Mechanical or Chemical engineering, you specialized in fluid mechanics and/or thermodynamics (Heat Transfer).
To succeed in this role, we see that you have at least a few years of working experience and/or PhD experience within the competence field and you have been working with research
- or development activities.
You have good knowledge in CFD simulations and have used it actively during your recent work experience, we use ANSYS/FLUENT, experience with multiphase simulations is considered a merit.
Preferably you have practical experience from laboratory testing.
Application knowledge within air conditioning and heat pump systems is well appreciated.
As a person, you are creative with analytical skills and have an interest in technology.
Since you will work with colleagues and customers in an international environment, you should be fluent in written and spoken English.
