Tenure Track Assistant Professor The Department of Public Administration at Villanova University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Public Administration, beginning in the Fall semester of 2025. We welcome applicants with training in Public Administration, Public Policy, Public Management, Public Affairs, Political Science, and related fields. We are especially interested in a future colleague whose research and teaching interests include subject areas such as public policy and management, policy analysis, or intergovernmental affairs. Additional expertise or interest in environmental policy is highly desirable.

Position Summary
Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching on-campus and online graduate courses in our NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA) program and in our undergraduate level Public Service and Administration major and minor. We seek a colleague who is able to work with our diverse student body and embraces our Villanova University and Department of Public Administration mission. The successful candidate will teach in the areas of Public Policy and Analysis, Urban Policy, or Public Sector Management. Additionally, the ability to develop and teach special topics courses, such as grants management or courses in environmental policy, would be highly valued.
We offer a 2-2 teaching load for the first year. For the subsequent two years, the teaching load increases to 3-2. After a successful Third Year Review, a one-semester sabbatical is available in the fourth year, and the 3-2 teaching load may be continued for another three years contingent on one's publication record.
Minimum Qualifications
We seek candidates whose research, teaching, and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to teaching and supporting diverse learners. A Ph.D. in Public Administration, Public Policy, or related fields must be conferred before the beginning of Fall 2025. Preference will be given to applicants who show promise of a strong record of publication and evidence of in-person and online teaching effectiveness.
