YOUR TEAM You'd be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where biomedical, robotics, mechanical, electrical, and computer science engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
The Human-Robot interfaces and Interaction (HRI²) Research line is coordinated by Dr. Arash Ajoudani, who has extensive experience in physical human-robot interaction, applied machine learning, mobile manipulation, robust and adaptive control, assistive robotics, and tele-robotics.
We are searching for talented and motivated candidates for a novel project in computer vision and machine learning, focused on human action recognition and state estimation through images and videos. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and drive innovation in the field of online human motion capture and state monitoring.
RESPONSIBILITIES Developing and applying machine learning algorithms and computer vision techniques on visual data (e.g., RGB(-D), infrared). Optimising and fine-tuning the developed methods to improve the system's robustness and efficiency. Collaborating with other engineers and researchers to validate the system in both simulated and real-world scenarios. WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE A master or bachelor degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline with a focus on artificial intelligence. Strong background in computer vision, machine learning, and image processing. Strong skills in Python and C++. Experience with computer vision/machine learning libraries and frameworks such as OpenCV, PyTorch, or TensorFlow. Confidence with version control tools (specifically git). Excellent problem-solving skills, positive and innovative. Strong interpersonal skills and team working attitude. Good communication skills in English. EXTRA AWESOME Experience with vision-based systems and motion capture is a plus. Experience with Docker or virtual environments. Experience with ROS. High motivation to learn. Spirit of innovation and creativity. Good in time and priority management. Ability to work in a challenging and international environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
