All about the role:
The Technical Leader is the R&D accountable for new product developments, driving the project concept and execution from its very beginning until the launch of the product (from concept to prototypes, industrialization, and market launch). The candidate will ensure that development efforts are aligned with the strategic focus of creating a Best-in-Class consumer experience.
The Technical Leader will work in cross-functional project teams, involving representatives from other Electrolux functions and locations, and drive discipline within the Electrolux Project Management (EPM) process with the objectives of speed to market, product quality, and proper costs.
The candidate will be assigned to high and medium complexity Refrigerators and Freezers projects designed by Electrolux, having to report periodically to Project Managers about target fulfillment.
In detail, you will:
Understand, change, and create component/system design specifications/requirements/guidelines.
Identify and support standardization by ensuring that new developments fit into the platform and subsystem structure.
Use best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues to improve the design & development of product components.
Provide input and active contribution to the development and execution of projects, solve complex problems, and identify innovative solutions.
Lead interaction with cross-functional teams, external bodies, and universities, acting as a technical reference for one region or a wider team internationally.
Plan and ensure execution of project deliverables within agreed-upon timing and budget.
Interact proactively with R&D teams, company functions, consultants, and suppliers.
Drive regular project team meetings inside R&D stakeholders, providing the inputs needed to the Project Manager.
Attend production of finished goods, subassemblies, and components to verify compliance with technical specifications.
Drive and implement mitigation plans for at-risk items.
Who you are:
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
2+ years experience in product development in a similar industry.
Availability to travel.
Knowledge of product development framework: stage-gate development processes, design reviews, DFMEA, DFA, product validation processes.
Knowledge in system development and design. Previous experience in 2D and 3D CAD (CATIA V5) is a plus.
Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects across sectors and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences.
Experience with computer applications is required, including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Teams, MS Project.
Fluent in English.
