I confirm that all information submitted in my application is accurate to the best of my knowledge.Job OverviewMembership in protected categories will be considered a preferred requirement (law n. 68/99)Position: Plant & Process EngineerLocation: PisaOBJECTIVES/PURPOSEAssist the Process & Plant Engineering site Lead in executing routine and special tasks assigned to the engineering team.Facilitate project expansion initiatives.Ensure continuous production operations.Enhance and develop technological assets.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate vendor and contractor management to support project execution and production efficiency.Assist in the strategic planning of manufacturing facilities and capital project timelines in alignment with the Process and Plant Engineering site Lead.Support quality audit inspections and the local EHS program, implementing safety measures in compliance with current regulations.Conduct feasibility studies on plant and process equipment.Responsible for analyzing and defining equipment capacity models.Assist in evaluating maintenance needs for new equipment and help adjust the preventive maintenance program in collaboration with the Maintenance Department.Work closely with the Maintenance Department and other operational teams to resolve issues related to process equipment.Support the Engineering site Lead in the local implementation of global engineering initiatives.Facilitate the deployment of global engineering standard operating procedures (SOPs).Manage local engineering SOPs, ensuring all engineering documentation is current and meets technical, quality, and safety standards.Assist in the analysis and execution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with other site functions.Be available for on-call service as needed.Provide support to the site engineering lead in budget management.Oversee change control and take ownership of new implementation projects.Responsible for the pest control system in collaboration with the quality department.Accountable for managing water and energy facilities, monitoring, and optimizing related projects.DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTSTechnical/Functional ExpertiseAccountable for operational outcomes.Responsible for the life cycle management of production equipment.Leadership (Vision, strategy alignment, people management, communication, influencing others, managing change)Lead cross-functional teams for project execution.Manage the process team to promptly address and resolve operational challenges.Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Collaborate with cross-functional teams for technical assessments and implementations.Identify opportunities beyond immediate responsibilities and encourage others to adopt innovative practices.Empower the engineering team to collaborate effectively and engage in constructive discussions.Make and implement decisions based on sound business judgment.Decision-Making and Autonomy (Authority to make organizational decisions, autonomy in decision-making, complexity of decisions, impact of decisions, problem-solving)Exercise autonomy in decision-making during engineering projects and implementations, reporting and escalating issues to higher management as necessary.Interaction (Nature of engagement with others in job performance, internal and external relationships):Foster strong collaboration with manufacturing and quality departments, focusing on change control and compliance.Innovation (Required level of scientific knowledge, knowledge sharing, innovation, and risk-taking)Maintain a continuous improvement mindset.Implement digital initiatives in partnership with the Automation department.Complexity (Products managed, mix of businesses, internal/external business environment, cultural considerations)Manage process engineering within a biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.Possess expertise in bioprocess engineering and in-depth knowledge of systems, equipment, and automation.EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS: (Essential and desirable education and competency requirements for primary responsibilities)Bachelor's degree in engineering.3+ years of relevant experience.Strong teamwork abilities.IT Skills:Proficient in Office Suite tools.Familiarity with commonly used industrial ERP software (SAP and JDEdwards).Knowledge of popular project management software.Basic understanding of cloud-based data access and sharing tools.Able to analyze and interpret test results.About Us:At Takeda, we are dedicated to transforming patient care through the development of innovative specialty pharmaceuticals and exceptional patient support programs.
