Ingenieurwesen/Technik The Technical Director is the head of the technical team of a multipurpose terminal that manages containers, ro-ro and general cargo.
The Technical Director is responsible for all maintenance activities (structural, electrical, equipment, etc.)
in the terminal and oversees all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of PLTs facilities and equipment.
He/She will be the one to ensure that his/her colleagues have the best resources available to complete their duties in accordance with the budget.
The Technical Director has a solid understanding of safety regulations, maintenance management procedures including RAMS analysis and other related analysis.
Focus on safety and continual improvement, improvement of reliability of equipment, reduction of maintenance cost, etc.

The ideal candidate has an aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting, and analyses.
Besides managing the maintenance team, the Technical Director will also obtain all permits, procedures, and paperwork for approvals from the port authorities and other authorities and will be implementing special (safety) improvement projects.

Plan and oversee the team that organise all repair and installation activities.
Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff.
Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.
Control/track and support the commissioning of new equipment.
Ongoing improvement based on solid analysis and improvement proposals.
Implementation and ongoing management of KPI's.
Execution of special improvement projects.

What you bring to the table Education Experience Proven experience as Maintenance Manager or other technical managerial roles (7-10y).
Experience in planning a wide range of maintenance operations of infrastructure systems and equipment.
Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus.
Degree in technical field will be a plus (Engineering or similar).
Experience in the port industry will be a plus.
Technical Skills Knowledge Required Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
Working knowledge of facility machines and equipment.
Behavioral Competences Required Ability to keep track of activity and prepare reports.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
Strong team coordination skills.
Safety first mindset.
Language Requirements Fluent spoken and written Italian is a must.
Fluent spoken and written English is a must.
Other Requirements Valid EU work permit.
Willing to relocate to Trieste at short notice.
