And that's where you come in.AccountabilitiesThe candidate will be included, within the design department, in a team responsible for the design of the TCMS system in accordance with the specific requirements of the Project and deriving from the current railway regulations and standards. The team will take care of the entire software life cycle, from the specification phase to the validation phase in the laboratory, including modification phase and troubleshooting for any issues that should be raised during the service. It will also support, for each of the previous cases, the validation phases during the test acceptance tests with the customer.Analysis of the requirements, the design and development of the embedded software for the on-board electronic control units both in case of new projects and of corrective software maintenanceTCMS system architecture definition and modifications for the specific project to solve operating problems and satisfy any possible modification requests coming from the customer.Writing of functional and software requirements specifications for new and existing projectsSoftware implementation and testing using company tools.Writing of product documentation and product modification according to company standardsWriting test cases (including non-regression tests) to demonstrate coverage of project requirements and/or new/modified requirements.Design review with Clients and SuppliersAnalysis and troubleshooting of issues raised during service operation on the basis, in order to propose mitigation actions (in short period) and corrective solution on the project (in long period)Required Skills/ KnowledgeExperience of at least 5 years in the railway industry or equivalent industry with the role of Software EngineerExcellent knowledge of C/C++ programming languagesExcellent knowledge of Matlab-Simulink-StateflowExcellent knowledge of SW Real Time ArchitectureAbility to work effectively with all levels of the organisation, with the aptitude to contribute with constructive and practical ideas.Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multitasking international environment.Ability to work autonomously in teams and for projects is required.Availability for short-term national and international business trip.Desired Skills/ KnowledgeKnowledge of HTML5 languages, javascriptKnowledge of the Linux operating system for embedded applicationsWork experience in the railway sectorKnowledge of the Python languageKnowledge of Cybersecurity techniquesKnowledge of javascript development frameworksKnowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.Knowledge of software development in the railway industryAbility to manage and plan the assigned tasks independently and team-working.Ability to analyze business requirements, problem-solving attitude and business process analysis.Ability to face with the different internal functions (internal customer) and external (suppliers, customers, partners).Planning and organization.Versatile in learning and strong desire to remain up-to-date with changes in technology and best industry practices.Strong business acumen & technical skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Attitude to work in an international and multi-cultural reality.Education / QualificationsDegree in Telecommunication/Automation/Computer or Electronic Engineering or at least 10 years of experience in similar roles.LanguagesGood knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory.Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
