In line with Villanova's strategic plan, Rooted.
Restless., and under the guidance of the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition and Equal Employment Specialist will execute the University-wide talent acquisition process and play a critical role in ensuring success in the attraction and employment of top talent.
This role will be responsible for managing the Affirmative Action Plan, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and enhancing the University's recruitment strategies.
The role consults with hiring managers on all aspects of talent acquisition from job postings and recruitment strategy, sourcing and screening qualified candidates, and presenting/negotiating offers.
The Talent Acquisition and Equal Employment Specialist develops an understanding of the University's talent needs and utilizes strategies to execute consistent and effective recruitment processes in compliance with all applicable policies, rules, regulations, and labor/employment laws.
A successful Talent Acquisition and Equal Employment Specialist will be dedicated to building relationships and processes while creating an equitable and engaging hiring process for all involved.

Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate position review and posting process.
Develop timelines and milestones for the search process and approve/route requisitions in the applicant tracking system.
Ensure all job descriptions and postings are accurate and compliant with all federal/state laws and University policy.
Become a trusted talent partner, build relationships and develop an understanding of the community's talent needs.
Consult with hiring managers on recruitment procedures and processes, and the development of recruitment strategies to decrease the time to fill/hire.
Manage and drive a structured interview process.
Prescreen applications, select and refer qualified candidates, and conduct initial interviews as needed.
Assist hiring managers and search committees in the development of appropriate role-specific and behavioral interview questions and selection rubrics.
Monitor candidate pools to ensure searches are progressing, hiring managers are timely in their recruitment activities, and hiring recommendations are appropriate and support the chosen candidates.
Deliver a smooth and exceptional candidate experience from the first outreach.
Evaluate the University's current processes, tools, and resources and make recommendations to increase effectiveness and improve the candidate experience.
Recommend starting salaries, in partnership with the Compensation team, conduct thorough reference checks, and deliver and negotiate offers.
Coordinate timely hiring processing in partnership with the Senior Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
Research ways to attract new candidates and develop innovative sourcing strategies to enhance diverse candidate pools for current and future openings.
Drive equity and inclusion at every stage of the talent acquisition process.
Develop, implement, and manage the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to AAP requirements and address any discrepancies.
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation related to the AAP.
Monitor and report on diversity metrics and outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications: Have a Bachelor's Degree (required); a combination of post-secondary coursework along with significant work experience (5+ years) and/or certifications may also be considered.
Have a minimum of 3 years of related experience in Talent Acquisition/Human Resources, with demonstrated knowledge and experience executing current practices in full cycle recruitment.
Minimum 1 year of experience in managing affirmative action plans.
Possess a deep understanding of talent acquisition, diversity, and inclusion practices.
Skilled in using applicant tracking systems and reporting.
Experience that supports the establishment and maintenance of positive working relationships with diverse constituents.
Must exhibit in philosophy and practice a high level of support for the mission and values of Villanova University, the Human Resources department, and our shared commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Must be able to serve as a community builder, collaborative business partner, team player, and servant-leader, valuing different backgrounds and life experiences.
The ability to work effectively with diverse applicants at all levels will be critical.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
Must be highly organized and willing to learn.
Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities and function independently and effectively under heavy workloads and during peak periods.
Must demonstrate a high level of resourcefulness, diplomacy, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of responsibilities.
Must be able to protect confidentiality of information at a high level.
Preferred Qualifications: HR certification (such as PHR or SHRM-CP) and/or master's degree in HR, business, counseling, organizational development or related field.
