Job Description Cleantech Solar is seeking an experienced individual to add to its rapidly expanding team of technical professionals. The person will report to the Head of Operations and will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external teams of designers, engineers, consultants and authorities to obtain necessary site information to assess the viability for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. He/she will be responsible for establishing processes, standards, tools, and templates to ensure effective evaluation of Cleantech Solar's pipeline of commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic projects.
Responsibilities The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders during all phases of project evaluation and development Developing solar photovoltaic system designs to address site-specific requirements using AutoCAD, Sketchup, PVsyst and other design tools Adopting necessary document control measures to manage internal and external design documentation Using understanding of good engineering practices, construction logistics, material and labour costs to optimize designs Creating and reviewing Bills of Materials for estimating purposes and for Request for Proposals (RFP) Reviewing technical proposal and Bills of Materials submitted from vendor Reviewing, commenting and approving documents or drawings submitted by contractors before construction Conducting site visits to project sites to assess project feasibility and resolve PV system challenges Holding design review meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed to maintain proper QA/QC on projects Assisting development team, construction team and operations team with design-related questions Working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing competing priorities and overcoming obstacles to successfully meet project milestones Requirements Diploma or Bachelor degree in an Engineering discipline 5+ years of project engineering or design experience Working knowledge of construction and electrical principles Solar photovoltaic system design experience is a plus Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, PVsyst and MS Office Suite Experience with MS Project is a plus Highly organized and proactive Eager to learn and develop a deeper understanding of PV design and construction Able to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities Able to work in tandem with a global team of internal and external stakeholders Knowledge of local and international engineering and related standards Business travelling is required (up to 25% of the time) Location Job location for the above position is in Thailand and requires travel to various Cleantech Solar sites and locations across Thailand, and possibly to other Southeast Asian countries Contact Information
