GDIT has an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator supporting infrastructure management on the EMITS contract for US Army Garrison Italy. The position is based in Vicenza, Italy. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Windows servers, ensuring their security, availability, and performance in support of Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Physical Security (PS) Systems, and Operational Technology (OT) systems. This role involves routine security patching, troubleshooting, and collaborating with other IT teams to implement infrastructure solutions that align with command requirements.
HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Perform system administration on Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022 operating systems.Conduct system backups and manage data storage to ensure data integrity and availability.Apply security updates and patches to maintain compliance with IAW DoDI 8510.01 and NIST 800-53 rev. 4/5 standards.Conduct ACAS security scans and Nessus Manager scans to identify system vulnerabilities.Remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with Security Control policies.Manage and maintain Active Directory and user access utilizing DD2875 access requests.Test and evaluate security procedures to enhance system protection.Design and maintain system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and network topologies.Maintain and update hardware/software inventories to track asset inventory.Assist in developing risk assessments, incident response plans, standard operating procedures, and vulnerability assessments.Create detailed reports on vulnerabilities and assist in categorizing their severity.Patch and update systems to align with compliance requirements.WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED Education: Bachelors degree.Certifications: Security+, CE - Sec+ CE; Windows Computing Environment Certification.Experience: 5+ years' experience of Windows environment administration.Skills: Experience in systems administration and infrastructure management; Strong understanding of security best practices and vulnerability management; Experience using STIG Viewer, Evaluate-STIG, and/or SCAP tools for compliance management; Proficient with Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, VMware, and Azure Private Cloud; Ability to work independently and collaboratively to maintain system reliability; Analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex IT challenges.Clearance Requirement: Secret.Travel Requirements: 10%.
