Purpose of the Job ? Methodic analysis of the input needs (external or internal), to design a solution that fits requirements by adapting existing items or by adding new generic/reusable entities, in accordance with team peers, design authorities and other system's stakeholders.
? Formal modelling of the system design and requirements writing.
? Definition of external and internal interfaces of the system, aiming at standardization ? Update of the system documentation at operational, functional and constructional level.
? End-to-end ownership of design solutions, from supporting V&V team in definition of acceptance criteria to follow-up with Software Team to verify matching of system and software design.
Educational and technical knowledge ? Master's degree in engineering or in other scientific area.
? Specific domain knowledge in mainline railway signalling – not mandatory but a key factor, especially any experience in TMS/CTC area.
? Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and SysML knowledge – bonus for System Engineering Certification.
? Software engineering with 3 or more years of working experience in complex systems within the last 10 years.
? Understanding of structured requirements management.
? Knowledge of CENELEC EN50126 and EN50128 European norms – preferrable.
? Mandatory English language fluency – bonus for French.
Behavioral Skills ? Very keen to read and write documents, even for pre-existing matters.
? Analytical approach and ability to anticipate impacts of different design choices (e.g.
performance wise).
? Capable of cooperating with other teams (e.g.
safety, cybersecurity, software, V&V, bid) to get wide system understanding and to foster system's improvements and evolutions ? Feel comfortable working with complex systems in a variable environment.
? Available to job trips in Italy and abroad.
The position can be based in Rome or Bologna.

It is the main Traffic Control Centre subsystem and can be scope of standalone project or platform level contract.
