To be able to work close to our Supply Partners all over the world, 7 Supply Areas (SAs) within a total of 24 SA offices are established.Supply Area South is one of the total seven Supply Areas within IKEA, and our co-workers are based in Istanbul, Bucharest, Milano, Pratteln and Karachi.We are currently looking for a Sustainability Specialist in Sustainability Team based in Milan office.Being the Sustainability Specialist, you will support business teams and will work closely with others on a daily basis.
You will secure that all IKEA requirements related to sustainability are met by IKEA business partners in Supply Area South.
This will be done by performing IWAY (IKEA Supplier Code of Conduct) and other traceability, sustainability compliance verifications, implementation, and support activities in accordance with all relevant working methods.The purpose of the Sustainability Specialist in the Supply Area South is to support the business in implementing and verifying sustainability-related requirements.
The Sustainability Specialist is also responsible for securing that the IWAY (our code of conduct including sustainability strategy) and Supply Chain Security ways of working are understood and in place.Your tasks will include:Plan and perform IWAY verification, implementation, and support activities, in accordance with IWAY Working Methods and all other relevant mandatory documents at IKEA business partnersResponsible for performing initial sustainability compliance assessments for new suppliersResponsible for root cause analysis of non-compliance and for creating understanding for the supplier in order to achieve complianceResponsible for gathering and analysing information and facts to draw conclusions about compliance/non-compliance, using auditing methods including in-depth interviews with individual and/or group interviews with different parties at the supplierSecure timely and accurate verification information in the planning and reporting toolsTogether with the business teams, work to set priorities and goals for the Category and specific suppliers to execute sustainability actions/prioritiesResponsible for securing the collection, verification, aggregation, and reporting of sustainability data and providing relevant analysis to support business decisions for the development of the specific suppliersFacilitate sustainability-related training for business teams and suppliersPlan and execute sustainability projects in the region and on country level (e.g.
circularity, renewable energy, secondary raw material)Act as an ambassador of IKEA valuesMinimum Requirements:University degree in sustainability or one of the following engineering fields (environmental, chemical, or industrial)Good knowledge and understanding of sustainability-related global and local trends and their impacts on the total businessGood understanding of different industrial setups, market-specific conditions, and macro-economic conditionsGood understanding of different supply chains and ability to identify the links to create, lead and execute sustainable business projectsKnowledge of management systems: ISO 14001, SA8000, OHSAS, and so onKnowledge on Energy Management systems: ISO 50001Understanding of the upcoming EU legislations such as EU-DR, CSRD, CSDDDGood understanding of IWAY, IKEA Code of Conduct and good verification skills, ability to conduct verification activitiesGood knowledge of project management tools and methodologyHave an interest in people's life at home; energy, drive, and commitment to deliver better products for the many peopleFluency in English, Italian and Spanish (both spoken and written usage) is a must, Portuguese or French is a plusHonesty with high integrityHighly willing to travelStrong analytical skillsAn active driver with a valid driving licenseIf you have any questions about the recruitment process, you are welcome to contact People Culture Generalist Melike Asaner (******).
