A job at IKEA is much more than just a job. Together, co-workers (yes, that's what we call our colleagues) are helping more and more people create a better everyday life, starting from their homes.
Would you like to contribute to this mission? And at the same time, work in a place that makes you feel at home, where you can be yourself and express your talent? Great, you're in the right place!
The Sustainability Specialist ensures the integration and implementation of various sustainability strategies from a dynamic, multifunctional perspective. Primary responsibilities are to establish the IKEA brand and IKEA stores as trustworthy and meaningful, with the latter being a natural destination for sustainable home living and to be responsible in stores to ensure that we meet IKEA's commitment to having a positive impact on people and the environment, growing our business and achieving long-term profitability.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:
- Cooperate with the store management team to ensure Sustainability is integrated
into the store Action Plan;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and
consistent engagement throughout the local area;
- Establish and lead processes to facilitate the concrete and effective alignment of
the sustainability strategy and its integration into the store's corporate agenda;
- Communicate internally and externally, the strategy and goals, acting as the
company's ambassador on sustainability topics;
- Make sure that the store Action Plan is implemented and periodically checked
through the Sustainability Functional Review and other relevant assessments;
- Act ad reference person for co-workers regarding sustainability related matters,
contributing to co-worker training and engagement initiatives;
- Work in cooperation with our national and local strategic partners and charitable
organizations to ensure shared campaigns and initiatives are effectively planned,
executed and communicated;
- Provide sustainability related contents for communication purposes, with special
focus on local initiatives;
- Provide an inspiring and motivating direction for the store colleagues on how,
together, we can grow IKEA in a sustainable and socially responsible way.
Some would call us idealists who want to change the world, but we are firm believers that we actually can have a positive impact on people, society and planet. We put our heads together to solve the big questions: how IKEA products can become circular by using material and resources in the best way, how to improve the lives of the people who create our products, and how IKEA can benefit the communities where we operate.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:
- Demonstrated experience in the field of communication, Corporate Social
Responsibility and a strong interest in sustainability issues;
- In depth knowledge of how to initiate, plan, execute, control and close a project;
- Ability to engage a receiver and create passion for your plans;
- Ability to create a strong network of partners internally and externally to the
company;
- Ability to recognize the link between environmental sustainability and the
commercial agenda;
- Committed to creating a more sustainable way of living;
- Good analytical and numerical ability;
- Good level of English;
- Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as
independently.
Joining the IKEA team comes with many benefits that go beyond the opportunity to work for a global company! You'll be part of an inclusive culture driven by our values, with structured processes. Additionally, you'll have access to:
- 15% employee discount on IKEA product purchases;
- A cafeteria service offering a wide selection of products (many of which are organic), where you can enjoy a meal for just over €1;
- A corporate discounts and agreements portal, providing a range of products and services for travel, leisure, technology, and much more;
- Wellbeing offers.
Work availability on shifts is required, 5 days a week out of 7; The job offer is available both in a part-time format ( 20 hours per week) and as a full-time option, coordinated with other store activities.
