The Global Information Technology (IT) Department of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is actively working on rationalising and streamlining the diverse technological landscape within the Group.
This ongoing initiative bears many aspects and lead to many projects mobilising the overall workforce of the company.
**Sustainability Reporting Manager**:
The position is in charge of supporting the Sustainability Senior Manager to oversee and enable the implementation of the Sustainability Plan (with a predominant focus on environmental impacts) and coordinating activities at local level to ensure compliance with national/international standards and industry best practices consistently with the MSC Cargo Division Sustainability Strategy.
He/she directly contributes to assuring environmental topics are promoted as part the MSC Cargo Division's business agenda and progressively integrated across all areas of the business.
In particular, he/she will be in charge of maintaining the company's ESG data management system ensuring adequate data quality and consistency with the evolving company Division's perimeter.
He/she will manage all relevant reporting activities and be responsible for coordinating customer-oriented reporting activities on sustainability topic matters as well as ESG ratings.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Liaises with all relevant company departments and legal entities within the MSC Cargo Division to contribute to the progressive embedding of environmental and social topics into the business model (whole perimeter) and ensures full implementation of the reporting system.
- Supports the Sustainability Team in implementing sustainability policy matters and relevant data management systems (data accuracy).
- Takes part in relevant activities related to the mitigation of environmental impacts as well as adaptation to climate change.
- Cooperates with the Environmental and Social Impact Teams in relation to performance monitoring and reporting.
- Ensures monitoring and reporting on mandatory and voluntary targets and rounds up structured information on progress (distance to targets).
- Oversees and contributes to maintaining the company ESG data management system, particularly by managing the continuing expansion of the perimeter of the existing and newly added entities and business segments within MSC Cargo Division.
- Oversees and coordinates activities related to the submission of questionnaires to ESG rating agencies.
- Oversees and coordinates activities related to the submission of sustainability questionnaires required by customers.
- Participates in and contributes to meetings and presentation with customers about sustainability-related topic matters in line with the MSC Cargo Division's Sustainability Plan.
- Assist in the development and publication of MSC Cargo Division's annual Sustainability Report and collaborate across departments and business segments to develop relevant contents (focus on environment).
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
- University degree (Engineering or Economics a plus), advanced degree valued.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant Sustainability related fields and complex organizations.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
- Subject matter expert in Sustainability/ESG Reporting.
- Sound project management skills.
- Expertise in risk management, ESG data management.
- Extensive knowledge of ESG rating systems.
- Consolidated experience in ESG reporting for global companies (relevant experience in the transportation industry a plus).
- International background and excellent language skills.
- Good intercommunication skills and ability to interact with high-ranking officers within complex organizations.
- Ability and experience to inspire and coordinate other professionals and work in cross-functional teams.
MAJOR CHALLENGES FOR THIS POSITION
- Overseeing and monitoring company performance related to the achievement of MSC'S decarbonisation plan and social impact-related programmes included in the MSC Cargo Division sustainability plan.
