**Job Summary**
The **SCS **Country Manager **directs the operations of UPS SCS Service Centers. He/She monitors and analyzes operational data to assess productivity, service, and quality targets. This position provides guidance and direction to Service Center Managers for improving service level results. The Country Manager participates in meetings (e.g., sales team, etc.) to understand customer requirements and expectations.
**Job Duties**
Manages Revenue Growth and Customer Relations
- Interacts with UPS local, global and strategic Sales
- Identifies current and long-term business development opportunities
- Oversees the request for quotation process
- Reviews service levels and operational productivity to ensure customer retention
- Defines and executes initiatives for customer satisfaction and retention
- Interacts with customers to show appreciation, identify and resolve issues and prevent churn
- Conducts customer meetings and participates in business review meetings
Manages Freight Forwarding and Logistics & Distribution Operations
- Reviews performance metrics to improve operations execution, identify and correct service failures
- Develops business analytics and optimization to identify operational issues and reduce costs.
- Reviews DGR handling and responds to regulatory issues to ensure compliance
Manages Facility Safety Compliance and Training
- Participates in comprehensive H&S program committee
- Monitors accident and injury reports to meet audit and compliance requirements
- Performs facility walk-arounds to observe, identify and correct safety issues
Manages and Develops People
- Manages resources and people to ensure the administration of processes and procedures
- Identifies individual and team skill gaps and proposes opportunities for team development
- Ensures that direct and indirect reports have documented career goals and plans to develop them personally and professionally.
- Conducts frequent evaluations to facilitate open communication and encourage continuous improvement
- Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS's policies and procedures
- Coaches others and provides on-going feedback and support to improve
- Identifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments and/or rotations that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals and organization.
