Proactively seeks opportunities for partnerships that encourage the development of integrated and advanced information services and systems to enhance access to content and support information discovery.Directs and oversees the development and management of FNIC, FSRIO, and Nutrition.gov programs across the full range of subject areas associated with food, nutrition, and food safety.Leads in the development and implementation of new training and information programs, products, and services critical to the researcher, practitioner, and consumer community.Coordinates the implementation of advanced IT solutions to optimize the provision of specialized Web-based information programs, products and services.Employs evidence-based management to demonstrate value and continually improve information sources and services.Identifies and translates strategic issues, concerns, trends, and policies into effective information programs and partnerships.Provides authoritative guidance and leadership for special initiatives involving collaborations with other federal departments and government agencies, scientific organizations, and other members of the food, nutrition and food safety communities.Conducts regular outreach and evaluation activities with customers, partners, and stakeholders to more effectively and serve the worldwide body of users.Promotes, publicizes, and explains services and activities through Web-based communications, formal presentations, personal contacts and other means of communication.Specialized Experience:
The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-13 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-12 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience planning, evaluating, and implementing nutrition programs; developing and providing food or nutrition information to the public; supporting research literature reviews or evidence reviews across various topics related to food or nutrition; and developing and implementing strategies and management guidelines.
