SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER/SUPERVISORY ARCHITECT EUR 50.000 - 70.000 You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT for Construction in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY of NAVFAC SIGONELLA, Italy. Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials; and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics. Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology) with at least one year of professional engineering experience. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the (GS-12) level or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional ENGINEER OR ARCHITECT providing supervision, assistance, and guidance involving construction management services concerning contracts related to facilities construction, repair, and maintenance. This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce position that requires an Engineering and Technical Management, Foundational acquisition certification. The incumbent has 36 months to earn this certification and must maintain it in accordance with DoD Instruction 6000.66. Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66. Work generally involves minimal risks and observance of safety precautions typical of an office setting. However, field inspections may require protective clothing, including hard hats, reflective vests, hard-toed boots, safety glasses, and ear protection.
