Your 'day to day': As Supervisor Production you will be part of our Manufacturing Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to Supervisor Process Support.
The position will be based in Bologna.
In your role, you will lead production activities and processes within the shift and coordinate the Line Coordinators inside the related RRP Manufacturing Area (Bay) in a consistent, streamlined and strategically aligned way.
You will ensure all Safety rules and requirements are fulfilled, operations are compliant under all Quality standards and procedures, and planned volumes are produced according to budgets and timing.
Act as all aspects decision maker for the bay within the shift scheme by having a full bay on time and planned available data set up; lead the decisions processes within the single shift and in a holistic view for the weekly production plan and/or in extraordinary events (i.e.
audit plan, external visit).
Our Supervisor Production acts as a role model on the shopfloor to sustain all the RRP Manufacturing Area processes, coordinating the RRP Manufacturing Area and the RRP organization to deliver all expected results and objectives, with the purpose to foster company business success according to OPEN+ model and tools.
Specific responsibilities include: Act as role model for the crew, being present on the shopfloor and supporting issue resolution on Safety topics.
Ensure Safety standards and rules respect, high standards of housekeeping, and proper care through maintenance and cleaning activities in line with agreed procedures.
Ensure all assets within the assigned area/units are maintained and the machinery technical state is kept in good working condition by escalating anomalies to the appropriate functions/Line Structure, driving them to undertake the necessary action in a timely manner.
Ensure Safety, Sustainability and housekeeping standards respect and best practices, through direct supervision and periodic audits according to the internal audit plan.
Actively contribute to the Value Stream activities organization to meet volume objectives in a cost-effective manner with high focus on waste reduction.
Support the indicated synergies across the different shifts to align with plans and existing standards.
Identify, share and implement best practices amongst all shifts and areas.
Cooperate with the Business Unit Manager/Process Support Supervisor/Line Structures to keep all activities and processes in the BU organized and streamlined towards employee engagement and continuous performance improvement.
Support the crew in identifying inefficiencies root causes, in contributing to measure them, drive action plans and implement corrective actions by OPEN+ tools adopting.
Share within the crew the best practices from other departments or affiliates, while contributing to share the crew ones to other functions/colleagues.
Coach organization of the BU crew towards continuous improvement process for productivity, Safety and Quality in a way that deviations or shortfalls are rapidly highlighted and addressed by employees through their prompt corrective actions.
Ensure and lead the deployment of the OPEN+ model in the supervised area.
Participate as Project Team Member in new Manufacturing and related matters projects, such as machines modifications, new machines start-up or new production launches in order to ensure the implementation of the project in a most effective way for the business and guarantee client interests are adequately respected and potential negative impacts are minimized.
Assure the crew capability, knowledge and skills to execute manufacturing and logistics operations on Safety, Quality and time through effective development plan and experiences (off-the-job/on-job training activities, on-the-job experiences, projects, job rotation) in order to assure the delivery of the scheduled production volumes and to achieve the business and people development objectives.
Organize, supervise and coach work of the direct and indirect subordinates, define with Line structure training and development needs based on the affiliate career stages framework.
Motivate and encourage the crew personal and professional development.
Make proposals to management and implement agreed organizational and headcounts strategies through effective hiring, assessment, training and development plans.
Strive for people development through effective and continuous communication and team building.
Assure PMI development performance management processes/tools (FTO) for his/her direct reports.
Exploit any chance to value people belonging to his/her organization and also to the other ones.
Support the development of an organization where deployment of objectives and responsibility is spread along the entire team, accordingly with the organization itself, with the purpose to enhance each employee contribution.
Appropriately act to avoid any employee/team conflicts.

Ensure efficient relations through all levels of the organization by developing effective working relationships with all employee groups, aiming to create positive attitude towards changes and challenges.
Support BU Line Structures to create the environment that leads towards a good and effective working relationship with the Trade Unions.
Requirements Skills: Technical School (Secondary Technical School or Technical University) or Degree 2 - 3 years of experience in Operations area with direct/indirect experience in production floor/crew management Effective coaching and communication skills High level of personal responsibility and accountability for results.
Ability to work with data, information, and problem-solving skills.
