Job Post: Sulphur Technology Process Specialist She/he will act as a subject matter expert to provide knowledge and expertise in sulphur and amine related technologies and business areas such as: Sulphur Recovery Unit, Tail Gas Treatment Unit, Tail Gas Thermal and Catalytic Incineration, Amine Treating Unit, Acid Gas Enrichment, Acid Gas Removal, Sour Water Stripping, Flue Gas Cleaning (DeSOx, DeNOx etc.).
The Technology Specialist participates in the technology development and optimization activities relevant for the assigned technologies; moreover, she/he is in charge of producing project documentation and deliverables, in compliance with the project requirements, quality and schedule for the assigned Project/s. She/he will work closely with the Technology Manager and other Process Engineers and will play a critical role in growing the technological knowledge and expertise within the process and technology department.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
Within the process and technology department, the main tasks and responsibilities of the Sulphur Technology Process Specialist will include the following:
With the support and in conjunction with the Technology Manager, play a leadership role in technology resolution, process scheme definition and technology selection;
Contribute to and lead the technical proposal preparation;
Check and perform process simulation and design of sulphur recovery units using in-house and/or commercial simulation tools;
Train junior engineers on the sulphur technologies;
Contribute to consolidate and to further develop Company licensed technologies in sulphur removal and recovery processes;
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines on topics of his/her competence;
Participate in Conferences and Seminars to promote Company licensed technologies by presenting technical articles and keeping the technology up to date;
Constantly update technical skills and thoroughly research new technologies within the industry by maintaining constant communication with suppliers and other technology providers;
Support and guide in-house technologies development efforts, including application standards, best practices, lessons learned and proprietary software tools;
Provide hands-on assistance with the commissioning and operation of technology units, as well as technical assistance for performance test runs and for troubleshooting analysis and solutions;
Participate in Hazop/SIL/LOPA, P&ID review, 3D Model, plant start-up and test-run as Licensor representative;
Design, prepare and update standard documents and tools used to facilitate project execution and proposal preparation;
Coordinate process activities during Basic, Feasibility Studies and EPC projects (on need basis);
Design, sizing, specification and selection of critical and technological equipment;
Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will match the following essential requirements:
Master Degree in Chemical Engineering;
8-10 years of professional experience in process engineering within a structured engineering company;
Proven and deep knowledge of sulfur and amine technologies;
Leadership and capability to coordinate the assigned team members;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and activities;
Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging issues;
Process simulation experience in using HYSYS, HTRI, Promax, Protreat, Symmetry or similar software;
Motivation to improve on the current best practices and technology offering;
Strong communication and presentation skills;
Availability for international mobility/travels;
Fluent in English (professional level in both written and spoken);
