Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Offshore & Subsea Structural Engineer (Consultant) to join our team. As a consultant, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and execution of structural systems for offshore and subsea facilities, with a particular focus on executive projects within the oil & gas sector. This consultancy role requires expertise in structural engineering principles, offshore platform design, subsea structures, and a strong understanding of the unique challenges posed by marine environments.
Key Responsibilities: Structural Design & Analysis: Perform detailed structural analysis and design for offshore platforms, subsea installations, and other marine structures using industry-standard software and methodologies.Executive Project Engineering: Lead and coordinate the structural engineering aspects of executive-level projects in the oil & gas sector, ensuring that designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.Subsea Installation: Oversee the design and integrity of subsea structures, including templates, manifolds, pipelines, and risers, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.Load Assessment: Conduct load assessments, including environmental loads (wave, wind, current), and ensure that structures are designed to withstand operational and extreme conditions.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards, local regulations, and safety guidelines (e.g., DNV, API, ISO).Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to structural integrity and subsea installations, including fatigue, corrosion, and accidental impacts.Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and calculations related to offshore and subsea structural engineering, with a focus on detailed engineering for oil & gas projects.Project Execution Support: Provide technical support during project execution, including fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases, particularly for complex oil & gas infrastructure.Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering (or a related field).5+ years of experience in offshore and subsea structural engineering, with a proven track record in the design, analysis, and execution of offshore platforms and subsea structures, particularly within the oil & gas industry.Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, SESAM, ANSYS) and familiarity with offshore codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV, ISO).Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, including hydrodynamics, soil-structure interaction, and fatigue analysis.Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and dynamic analysis for offshore structures.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and reports.Experience with project management and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent.Experience in large-scale oil & gas projects, including platform and pipeline design, as well as installation methodologies.Familiarity with offshore installation and construction methodologies, including deepwater projects.International experience in the oil & gas sector, with a focus on executive project delivery.
